Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Westchester

As the need for advanced imaging technology continues to expand across healthcare facilities, MRI environments are evolving right alongside it. During the 2025 Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center Westchester expansion, Kirlin provided custom MRI-safe lighting solutions for MRI suites designed to support both clinical performance and patient comfort.  

Each suite features 4″ Open Appearance MRI Downlights paired with three 10-foot 2.5″ MRI Static White Recessed Linear Slots positioned above the patient transfer table. The design team seamlessly integrated the linear fixtures into a wood-paneled ceiling grid, using custom flange finishes to create a cohesive appearance that complements the space’s aesthetic. By combining linear and point-source illumination, the result is a balanced lighting environment that enhances visual interest while helping create a more comfortable experience for patients undergoing imaging procedures.
