NSF/ANSI 2 certified lighting solutions for food preparation, service and storage

NSF-Rated Lighting for Food Service

NSF International and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) develop and test products that are designed to be used around food – from processing, preparation, service to storage.  Lighting is no exception to these regulations.

NSF certified fixtures have been tested by a third party and meet or exceed the following requirements:

  • Hose down resistant
  • Corrosion resistant
  • Tightly sealed that permit bacteria, or dust to permeate
  • Free from toxic material
  • Shatter resistant lens

NSF certified solutions should be the lighting source for areas that are the most at risk for food contamination.

Food Service FAQ

  • Where do you typically see NSF used?

NSF is in many places, including food processing, food preparation, food storage, and food service. This includes school and workplace cafeterias.
  • Why is NSF rating important?

Specifying and installing fixtures with NSF certification ensures that the lighting being used around food has been certified by a third party to comply with strict requirements and is safe to use around food.
