Kirlin Luminaires Used In Project: LKR-08055

Specifier: Strategic Energy Solutions, E.C. and Neumann Smith, Architects, Detroit

When Bedrock, a Quicken Loans Company, purchased the historic State Savings Bank in Detroit, the company committed to restoring the building to its former glory. It was very important to Bedrock and Architect, Neuman Smith, to maintain the original look of the building while increasing its utilization and reducing costly maintenance.

The building’s lighting system had long become inadequate, and non-functional. Bedrock reached out to The Kirlin Company with this challenge: replace (26), nine-compartment, custom luminaires (300-watt PS-25 incandescent) with new, state-of-the-art LED technology.

KIRLIN provided a 3500 Lumen wide flood 3500K LED retrofit solution that has reduced energy usage by 86%, increased light levels, and provides an incredible 80 times longer life while maintaining a style consistent with the original 1901 architecture.

Mission Accomplished!
